“Vending machines are fantastic, and it’s hard to imagine life without them. However, they have one big disadvantage: they are in a fixed place and tend not to be where thirst strikes! A chance meeting in 2014 came at exactly the right time at an electronics trade fair. Members of the R&D team at Yujin Robot, a South Korean robotics company, were presenting their newest invention: a robot designed to handle service tasks in hospitals or assisted living facilities, from delivering fresh linens to meals and medication. Right away, the concept resonated with my colleagues, and soon the question of whether GoCart would be able to transport cold drinks at public locations such as train stations or shopping centers was being discussed. A few months later, a trial run was set for Coca-Cola Germany’s offices in Berlin.”

What you do not know about Ceiling Fans

Ceiling Fan Trivia

Caribbean ceiling fan

What Ceiling Fans can do. (Photo Credits)

Ceiling fans are usually a fixture in the house that hardly gets the attention of homeowners unless it gets too dirty or broken.

But there are many things that ceiling fans can do, apart from helping cool down an area.

Tip Hero for instance shared that Ceiling Fans can actually help warm up a home during the winter. Build Safe

“In the winter, you can get the reverse effect by switching the way the ceiling fan blows. Instead of having the blades turn so that the fan blows down, you want the fan to draw the air upward. All you have to do to achieve this effect is to flip a switch that should be located near the pull chain. This will make the fan blades spin in the opposite direction and bring warm air down from the ceiling, circulating heat around the room.”

Read more here.

Power-generating

Electrician  Ceiling Fans can also generate electricity, at least according to the website 101 Ways to Survive. “A video on the ceiling fan to wind generator conversion I haven’t made a full working one yet this is a video describing basically how people are converting them over to a low rpm wind generator. If your going to build one try and find a large ceiling fan with the highest input wattage the fan in this video is only 60watts.”

Instead of a toy he might outgrow, though, she gave him something that would last: the galaxy! Well, kind of. She devised a way to turn the ceiling fan in his room into a beautiful painting of the night sky, and did so using just spray paint, stencils, and some artistic flair.”

So Small, so Modern

The TV has become so modern and compact that you could even hold it in the palm of your hands. Android Headlines shared a latest development as announced by multimedia company Sony. Association of Edison Illuminating Companies

“Television tuners have yet to make much of an impact in the mobile market for a couple of reasons with power consumption as a major one. Sony’s new digital tuner still looks like it will a relatively heavy power consumer but every improvement is welcome, however I see the new EW100 as being perfect for those larger devices such as a full size tablet, or indeed finding a place in an in-car entertainment centre. I am not so persuaded I would have so much value for it in my smartphone but I’m confident that some markets will be seeing devices with this unit installed in the not-too-distant future. Sony clearly believe this too as it’s being packaged up with support and the necessary drivers.”

Why not make your own table top lamp? (Photo Credits)

When you want to be greeted by a more fun or glamorous looking table lamp but do not have the budget to buy a new one, you might as well take the DIY route. Association of Edison Illuminating Companies

Gurl.com shared over a dozen ideas on how to make your own table to lamp or whatever you want to call that thing that illuminates your favorite spot in your house.

“If you’ve ever experienced dorm room lighting, you know it’s not ideal. When we stepped into my younger sister’s dorm room for the first time during her freshmen year of college, I was shocked to see some dim lights in the ceiling, but basically nothing else. No lamp by the bunk bed, no light in the closet, nothing. Granted, this was a state college, but still! It was dark in there! Lighting is something that you pretty much have to take care of yourself, but why buy a plain and boring lamp from Wal-Mart when you could make your own lit-up objects? These DIY lighting projects are all super fun and will not only make your room brighter, but they’ll also add some much-needed decorations. Decor with a purpose! And don’t worry – anyone can do these, whether you’re in a dorm room or your bedroom at home”

Check out the lighting projects here.
